Visit the Fairground

The history of Southport Pleasureland goes back to the latter part of the 19th century when a number of rides and attractions were first installed on the current Pleasureland site. Indeed, Norman Wallis’s forebears were among the first to have their rides within the Southport park, some of which were incorporated into the Marine Lake, the southern section of which was constructed in 1887.

Red squirrels, natterjacks, prehistoric footprints and miles of coastal walks are just waiting to be discovered – part of Formby’s amazing and ever changing landscape.
